We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
The school highly values and nurtures home-school relationships and strong communication. The school communicates with parents through a fortnightly newsletter, the Compass student information system and App, emails, phone calls and through our Facebook Page. Parents can also contact the school to arrange a parent-teacher interview when needed.
Parents at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School Waterloo are invited on learning walks each term for a chance to see learning in action in the classroom. Early each year we have a ‘meet the teacher BBQ breakfast’. Parent-teacher-student interviews are held mid-year and are offered again at the end of the year.
A weekly prayer assembly is held, where the community gathers to pray together, student achievements are recognised and special events are announced.
We highly value our parent community and the support it provides, and it is of great importance to us, that we work together in partnership with all of our families. The Sydney Catholic Schools Parent Charter outlines the importance of communication in this partnership.
