Mr Vince Campbell
Principal
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School is one of Sydney’s most historically significant Catholic schools, opening in 1858. A number of Religious Orders have been involved in the school. The Sisters of Mercy (North Sydney) were involved in the school from 1883 to 1991, and the Patrician Brothers staffed sections of the school from 1886 to 1963.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School (OLMC) Waterloo is founded in Christ and supported by Gospel values. OLMC strives to provide a positive and stimulating environment that enables children to contribute toward their community and confidently take their place in the world. Our Catholic community has a great spirit of love and support with care central to its identity.
Inspired by the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy and the Patrician Brothers of courage, compassion and faith, the school community strives to:
- share prayer and faith experiences that enhance each student’s understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith
- nurture respect and appreciation of all cultures
- engage students in authentic learning
- provide a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum informed by current educational theory and practice
- encourage staff to grow in their sense of vocation of bringing the wisdom of God to all, and
- facilitate strong partnerships between the school, parents and carers, parish and community.
